Let us start out our testimonials by relating two true stories of favors granted
through St. Joseph’s powerful intercession, giving us a glimpse into the spirit
and personality of this loving father who was the guardian and companion of
Jesus and Mary on earth.

“Some years ago I was staying overnight in a house of the Little Sisters of the
Poor in Brooklyn. In view of the nature of their work, these sisters quite
wisely have a special devotion to St. Joseph. Their custom was, and I hope still
is, to bring any particular material need to St. Joseph’s attention by putting a
sample or a symbol of it --- such as a potato or an unpaid bill --- at the base
of his statue, without neglecting, or course, to pray.
“The Brooklyn Sisters, wishing to give a little added joy occasionally to their
aging guests, wanted to serve them beer from time to time, especially on Sundays
or feast days. So in all simplicity, they put a bottle of beer at the feet of
St. Joseph where the statue stood in a corridor. Soon after, a certain Monsignor
came to visit the old people in the home. He saw the bottle of beer and wanted
to know why it was there. The sisters explained. The Monsignor laughed
derisively, ‘What a joke! Do you think St. Joseph is going to get beer for you?’
“When his visit was over, he left the house and started walking down the street.
He met a gentleman he knew, and they stopped to chat. The Monsignor couldn’t
resist talking about the joke he had seen in the home of the Little Sisters: A
bottle of beer at the feet of a statue of St. Joseph, so he would get some for
them!
“The other man looked at him and said: ‘Monsignor, the joke is going to be on
you. I happen to be the vice president of the So-and-so brewery, and if those
Sisters want beer for the old folks, I’m going to see that they get it from now
on.’
“This happened years before my visit, but the Sisters assured me that they were
still receiving every week a free delivery from the So-and-so brewery.”

Following is an even more humorous incident which happened
to some nuns in an Irish Convent:
|
|
“They too had the practice of putting samples or symbols of needed things at the
feet of a statue of St. Joseph followed up with prayers. One of the nuns,
dusting in a corridor, noticed that the statue of St. Anthony was a bit taller
than the statue of St. Joseph. This, thought the nun, is not right. St. Joseph
must stand taller than St. Anthony. So she went in search of something. The only
thing she could lay hand on at the moment was a can of sardines, so she put it
under St. Joseph.
“Next day the doorbell rang. When she answered it, the nun found a merchant
there who was saying: ‘Sister, I’ve got two cases of sardines in my truck out
here. A customer ordered them and then failed to take them. Would you Sisters
like to have them?’
“The nuns were eating sardines for many daters after!”

After two years of trying to sell a vacation cabin, we placed an ad on the
HeavenlyPropertySales.com website, openly placed the small St. Joseph statue on the
railing just before entering the cabin, and said the St. Joseph Prayer. Within
two weeks we had an accepted offer and had the closing two weeks later. HWA,
May, 2010.
We have a 33 lot subdivision in Central Wisconsin and in spite of extensive
advertising had not had a sale on the last remaining 6 lots for two and half
years. After advertising on the HR website for just two months, we sold a lot
and have had increased inquiries on the remaining five. RWLD, May 2010
